Or you might be overclocking! Let's compare it to a Skytone Alpha-400
netbook. It has a jz4730 (336 MHz max) and in fact the Linux kernel on
THAT machine reports the correct speed:

So I would guess the Linux on the jz4720 also reports the correct
speed. The kernel was perhaps compiled for a jz4740/jz4725.
