Yes. Most of the lowlevel graphics libraries (DircetFB, SDL,
pixman,...) have a mechanism to replace the generic graphic routines
with for a certain hw type specialized routines.
It would be great if we could teach the gcc assembler about the simd
instructions, so we can use inline assembler to write such routines.
