Thank you guys! :) I got it to boot after a (long) while, Kristoffer I am certain I beat your record (maybe we should hold a tournament :) I don't know what I was doing wrong. I thought maybe the order I was doing things was wrong (plug in the usb cable first or after shorting the pins etc) so after I flashed I tried a few things to see what works. Well, this time every single try it booted just fine... maybe it was just mad at me >_>

The bottom line (and getting back on the original thread subject) is that I played around with gmenu2x a bit and:

1. Explorer: was crashing because I was pressing Enter immediately after entering the application (when all I had was an empty screen since I haven't added any programs yet). If I press X to go up a directory, it's fine.

2. DGClock doesn't seem to start. When I press enter it seems to exit gmenu2x and shows a blank screen with these two lines:

[    13.470000] asoc: jz-codec <-> jz4740-i2s mapping ok
[    13.610000] fuse init (API version 7.13)

If they look familiar it's because they're the last output on the screen before gmenu2x loads :)

Then if I press Enter it shows the OpenWrt ASCII splash screen and an ash prompt.

3. Gmu is OK.

4. Stardict goes to shell, then it goes back to gmenu2x. Same when I run it from the shell. sdcv is OK.

5. Adding shortcuts to applications seems OK

6. I like the new keybindings, they make so much more sense!

Other than that I tried a few shell apps. I still don't know how to access Midnight Commander menus (alt + number... how??). Gnuchess plays ok, I can't figure out mandoc and everything else seems to be OK.

I think I'll keep this image and flash it to NAND, even just for the smaller font :) Thank you Mirko (and everyone else).
