Hub on nanonote?

[I haven't been able to find exhaustive info; neither on the website,
nor on Google about this question.]
I managed to connect the nanonote to a host, no problem, including NAT,
etc. Even including some hub.
But I don't manage to plug some device into the hub, and get it
recognized by nanonote.
What we were planning to do: set up a basic embedded lab (SIE is yet to
become available), and plug some USB-to-serial/parallel converters into
the hub; to obtain a console access; and basic control ability via the
data lines of the parallel port (of the USB-to-parallel). As of now,
this fails. Is this supposed to work? Is there any chance to 'multiply'
the single USB port?
Thanks in advance for some advice,
Uwe
