communicating with SAKC from another computer

Carlos,
I'm trying to understand how another computer
(say Ben Nanonote, or my favorite netbook)
will communicate with SAKC.
Since both Nanonote and SAKC has client USB,
that doesn't seem like a solution.
Maybe the common denominator is serial. I guess
the ttl levels might need to be converted (on both sides)
to allow for a wired connection over a reasonable distance.
You mentioned on the list something about SDIO
emulation on the FPGA. Can you explain that in a bit
more detail?
Thanks.
