The plastic bit that goes into the side wall could be made to be
very 3D-printable. (Or 2.5D-millable.)

This would also solve the problem that virtually all home-made
openings for connectors or such look bad. In fact, it would
approach it from two angles: 1) you can make a precisely cut
or shaped piece with CNC equipment, and 2) you can make as many
tries as you need because the pieces would be very inexpensive.

The inner surface of the cover would be flat and thus doesn't
need to be machined. The cover would come loose when detaching
the keyboard frame from the Ya's bottom shell.
