Compiling a simple application that says "Hello World" and exits takes 5
minutes to compile on the Ben.

Now add to this that most programs are much more complicated, and you have
a compile that takes days or weeks to complete (assuming you can avoid
running out of memory in the process.)

So yes, you /could/ compuile on the Ben but you could also hit yourself
with a hammer. Just because you /can/ doesn't mean you /should/. :)

Cross comiling is much faster.
