Plan 9?

I want to get into Plan 9 because it's UNIX's successor; UNIX's son, so
to speak. I want to learn about it, and if I've got a portable box to
run it on I can Plan 9 whenever I like. Like I said, the Pandora I'm
getting will serve the function that my Nano is now serving, but I don't
want the Nano to be obsolete or redundant.

Or is there some other, similarly tiny machine that anyone can suggest I
use for Plan 9 -ing, considering a Nano that can run Plan 9 to a point
where I can program on it is a while off?
