Redesigning the keyboard layout should be without cost, so there's
nothing against that. Using a cheap chip can help, but please be aware
of the consequences for the drivers. In particular, it can with the
current setup be purely interrupt-driven, by setting all columns to 0
and all rows to pull-up input, with interrupt on falling edge.
If simple muxer chips are used, that benefit is lost, because it will
not be possible to set all lines to 0 simultaneously.
