Debian upgraded!

Hi everyone,

I upgraded Debian this morning (apt-get dist-upgrade), and it rocks! Now
I average 25M or core free, not 2M or so. My only problem is that it's
got XDM starting when I boot (which I think I'm about to have solved -
apt-get remove xdm).

Now, since I've got so much more memory free, I'm holing I might be able
to get multiple consoles, so here are my questions - first, how can I
get the font I set in /etc/rc.local via setfont (from the qi-hardware
site, not the Debian version) to be the default font for all consoles on
the system? And how can I actually get multiple virtual ttys? What I
wanted X for was to be able to VI a source file on one tty and test them
on another.

Of course I've still got a couple of window managers on there, but I
don't use them locally because of the broken keymap in X, and the lack
of a mouse.

Anyway, can anyone help me?

Thanks very much. Mark.
