Gforth in config.full_system/other possible problems

Hi,

I'm currently trying to cleanup build process of the gforth package.
This can still take some time as I had to do a full checkout of
openwrt-xburst and are waiting for the rebuild...

I realized one new problem, maybe you can help me with that in the
meantime?

Adding Gforth to config.full_system, means that it is going to get into
the .ubi flash images, rather than being a .ipk package?

If that is so, than we have a new problem: the gforth package currently
uses a 'postinst' action to generate its interpreter image _on_ the
nanonote, when it is installed (saving it to
/usr/share/gforth/*/gforth.fi). There is no way to build the
interpreter image cross-platform, as it is only valid for the exact
gforth executable that was used to generate it.

So in case anybody wants to put that into a pre-generated flash rom .ubi
image, is there a way to trigger postinst after the first boot?

I guess not? Than the only workaround I can think of would be to
generate the image on first execution of Gforth. Or just live with the
fact that Gforth can only be installed using 'opkg'.

What do you think?

cheers,

David
