Both #qi-hardware and #milkymist had relatively low IRC traffic in
October, only a bit more than in September. On the mailing lists,
qi-hardware had the second most quiet month (only July 2011 was
more quiet) while milkymist had no less than 325% of the traffic
of the previous month, for the first time beating qi-hardware in
the same month, and only narrowly missing the all-time record of
April 2011.

When comparing the volume of compressed traffic between IRC and
the lists, it seems that roughly twice as much of the
communication happens on IRC than on the lists.
