Hmm, sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.  Looks like qemu-user is
quite limited in its syscall emulation (valgrind does that much better,
but unfortunately doesn't work cross-platform).

I guess it'll take less time to fix the endianess issues, than it'd take
to fix qemu.  If nobody else volunteers, I'll have a look at it.  But
this will still need testing on big-endian hardware.  Not sure whether I
can revive my old PPC PS3-linux system, after all the Sony otherOS
hickup.
