Hi Ruben,
word-wrap changes only display handling; file contents aren't touched,
and no line-breaks inserted on safe. For changing file contents you'd
need auto-fill-mode or something.
The additional stuff that visual-line-mode configures may nowadays be
enabled by default, but not sure.
