Ordering them is easy :-) I have some scripts (*) that generate a
shopping list (priced BOM) straight from the schematics. An example
is below.
(*) cd anelok/hw; make sch; click on "BOM" and save; exit eeschema;
cd ../bom; make cache; make shop N=20
Note: all this is "cut tape", suitable for manual soldering. Machines
typically want reels, so one either has to get full reels (makes sense
for things like resistors where the reel itself costs about as much as
the 1-10k resistors on it) or have the tape strips put on reels for
the SMT process.

Yes, and they may have local stock for things like standard resistors
